For communities
The best thing anyone knows is buried in an old thread.
The swimming hole off the trail. The turn you will miss. The spot that only works an hour before sunset. Every hobby has this knowledge, and all of it is buried in threads, spreadsheets and chats that the next person will never find.
Nothing to migrate and no admin to appoint. One person can start, and the rest join by walking past what they left.
Where it belongs
How does a community use Posty Crumbs?
Some of the biggest communities online are already about places. They just have nowhere to put them.
The knowledge sits where it is about
The swimming hole is a crumb at the swimming hole. The turn you will miss is a crumb at the turn. Nobody has to search for it — they walk into it.
A route the whole group builds
One person maps it, everyone else adds what they found. The trail gets better every season instead of being re-explained every spring.
A circle for the ones who were there
Some spots should not be public, and every community knows which. A circle is a group you name, and crumbs only they can find.
Saturday morning becomes part of the place
Nine birders at a lake. Their sightings and photos collect into that morning, and eventually into the history of the lake itself.
The subject, not just the map
Gear, technique, the people worth following, the places. A Cloud lets someone wander the whole interest rather than scrolling one feed of it.
Nothing gets buried
No algorithm decides this week is not the week for your post. What the group leaves stays exactly where it was left.
The size of this
How many people already talk about places online?
On Reddit alone, four hobbies come to seven million members — and every one of those communities is a conversation about where to go.
Start with the one thing people keep asking. Every group has a question that gets answered again every month. Leave the answer at the place, once, and stop answering it.
Questions
What a group organiser asks.
Do we have to move off our Discord or subreddit?
No. Most groups keep talking where they already talk and use Posty Crumbs for the part that is about a place — the routes, the spots, the things worth seeing when you get there.
Can we keep a location secret?
Yes, and you should for the fragile ones. A crumb can be private to you, shared with a circle you name, or sent to specific people. Only public crumbs appear on the open map.
Who runs it for the group?
Nobody has to. There is no admin role and no moderation queue to staff. Anyone can drop, anyone can add to a public trail, and anything can be reported.
What does it cost?
Nothing. There is no group tier and no limit on how much anyone drops.
What if someone leaves the group?
What they left stays theirs. They can delete their own crumbs at any time, and the rest of the trail carries on without them.
Somebody already knows. That is the whole problem.
The knowledge exists. It is just sitting where the next person will never look for it.
